U4GM: How to Open Up Legend Island and Explore More of Forza Horizon 6
At some point in Forza Horizon 6, that locked island in the south-east stops looking like background scenery and starts feeling like a dare. You can roam most of the Japan map early on, build a garage, tune silly fast cars, and stack up Forza Horizon 6 Credits along the way, but Legend Island stays shut. No bridge, no quick trick, no "drive around the barrier" shortcut. It's built as a late-game reward, and the game makes you prove you've done more than just cruise between festival sites.

What Makes Legend Island Different

Legend Island isn't just another patch of road with a few events dropped on it. It works more like a second festival zone. Once it opens, you get a new outpost, fresh races, extra PR stunts, bonus boards, and tougher routes that expect you to know your car properly. The roads are a mix of fast freeway sections, coastal bends, and mountain-style corners, so lazy driving gets punished pretty quickly. Players often notice the island early, but the game keeps it separate from the mainland until you've reached the right festival status.

The Actual Unlock Requirements

The important bit is this: Discover Japan progression doesn't open Legend Island. That catches a lot of players out. The island is tied to Horizon Festival progression, so your goal is to climb the wristband ranks. There are seven wristbands in total, and you need the Gold Wristband before the island becomes available. To get there, you'll need 32,500 Horizon Festival Points, then you must unlock Gold, and after that you have to beat The Colossus. It's not a quick evening job unless you're already deep into the game.

Getting Festival Points Without Burning Out

The grind feels much better if you don't treat every activity the same. Long races are fun, sure, but they're not always the quickest route to points. Speed Traps, Speed Zones, and Drift Zones are usually better when you want steady progress in shorter bursts. Drift Zones can be especially useful if you're comfortable holding a line and chaining score. First-place finishes matter too. You'll still move forward by taking part, but strong results speed things up a lot. Mix in races when you want variety, then go back to quick PR stunts when the point total starts dragging.

Beating The Colossus

The Colossus is the gatekeeper, and it's rough if you show up underprepared. This isn't a tiny sprint where one  ake can be fixed in the next corner. It's a long endurance race built around Japan's freeway network, with enough high-speed sections to expose bad gearing and enough bends to punish unstable builds. A balanced hypercar or a well-tuned AWD car is usually safer than chasing raw top speed. Good tyres, strong brakes, and sensible gearing make a huge difference. Once you win, Legend Island opens properly, and its tougher events become a great place to earn FH6 Credits while pushing your best cars harder than the mainland usually does.
